Prof. Olaf Hirschberg has been working for the last 20 years as media artist, director, director of photography, and producer for the film industry and the art world. He is an alumni of University of Media Arts Cologne. In 2012, he was assigned Head of the time based media department at the University of Applied Science in Mainz. Since 2016, he is the acting CVO of HEADTRIP, one of Germanys leading VR/AR/MR Agencies, that he co-founded in 2015. He is a regular jury member of Film-und Medienstiftung NRW and Landesmedienförderung Rheinland-Pfalz (both are regional german film and media funds). During his career, he shot over a dozen feature films and documentaries that premiered on international Filmfestivals, including Berlinale, Montreal, Karlovy Vary, Munich. He received several grants: LeFresnoy/Studio national des arts contemporains. Tourcoing, France/artist in residence, VFF Producers Business Angel Grant Munich, and Artist Union Cologne.
